James Parks Named President of the Oakland County Bar Association (Monday, June 11, 2018)

SOUTHFIELD, MICH., June 11, 2018 - James Parks, partner was recently elected president of the Oakland County Bar Association (OCBA). The OCBA is the largest voluntary bar association in Michigan, with over 30 active committees and approximately 3,000 members. The OCBA is a voluntary legal organization for attorneys, judges, paralegals, law professors and law students in Oakland County, Mich. On June 4th, he was sworn in front of over 300 members of the Association at the Annual Meeting held at The Townsend Hotel in Birmingham, MI. In this position Parks has promised to ask the "difficult questions" impeding inclusion of the richly diverse members of the legal community. He is also committed to civility in the profession and hopes to implement training and education to affect change in that area.

Parks is a member of the firm's Litigation and Employment & Labor Groups His national practice over the last 38 years includes complex litigation, traditional labor and employment law. He has vast experience representing both plaintiffs and defendants, and is a certified and accomplished mediator.
