James L. Kresta Joins Jaffe Raitt Heuer & Weiss, P.C. (Monday, December 19, 2016)

SOUTHFIELD, MICH., December 19, 2016 - James L. Kresta has joined the Southfield office of Jaffe Raitt Heuer & Weiss, P.C. as an associate in the firm's litigation practice group. Jaffe CEO William Sider made the announcement.

Mr. Kresta will concentrate his practice on commercial litigation and business dispute resolution, assisting with cases in both the private and public sector. His litigation involvement includes initial pleading and case management issues, discovery, substantive motions, trial and appeals. He has also assisted in breach of contract issues, fraudulent transfer claims, shareholder oppression suits, and both municipal and private construction disputes.

Prior to joining Jaffe, Mr. Kresta played a critical role in founding the Thomas More Legal Society at Franciscan University of Steubenville, where he served as the program's President . Additionally, he served on Wayne State University's moot court team and received recognition as the law school's top oral advocate, and represented the school at the prestigious Robert F. Wagner National Labor and Employment Law Moot Court Competition in New York City.

Mr. Kresta graduated cum laude from Franciscan University where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in legal studies. He is a Juris Doctor graduate with honors from Wayne State University Law School. Concurrently while in law school, James' work in public interest law earned him a Public Interest Law Fellowship.
