Joshua M. Borson, Up & Coming Lawyers Class of 2016 (Friday, December 02, 2016)

SOUTHFIELD, MICH., December 2, 2016 - Michigan Lawyers Weekly recently announced that Jaffe Raitt Heuer & Weiss, P.C. associate Joshua M. Borson has been named one of only 30 "Up & Coming Lawyers" for 2016. Jaffe CEO William Sider made the announcement.

Selected from statewide nominations, Mr. Borson was recognized for his significant and meaningful contributions to the legal community. Honorees are acknowledged for having spent less than a decade in practice and displaying the ambition, drive, determination and accomplishments that make them worthy of the "Up & Coming Lawyers" title.

"Joshua is a natural leader with an outstanding work ethic, delivering exceptional results in two of Jaffe's biggest acquisitions to date," said Sider. "His dedication to giving back to the community and his clients exemplifies the qualities we respect and admire here at Jaffe.

Mr. Borson was recognized for his work as a member of both deal teams for Sun Communities, Inc. He served a critical role in helping the firm complete the $1.32 billion acquisition of Green Courte Partners and the $1.68 billion acquisition of Carefree Communities. Additionally, Josh was a standout for his community service efforts in organizations such as Capuchin Soup Kitchen, TechTown Detroit and Cause We Care, a Temple Israel social action committee.

As an associate in Jaffe's corporate practice group, Mr. Borson concentrates his practice on all aspects of formation, governance and operations, including mergers and acquisitions, equity financings, private and public offerings, securities compliance and general corporate matters.

Mr. Borson received his Bachelor of Arts in psychology from the University of Michigan and his Juris Doctor as a cum laude and order of the coif graduate from Wayne State University Law School.
