Three Jaffe Raitt Heuer & Weiss Partners Honored as 2016 Lawyer of The Year by Best Lawyers (Monday, August 17, 2015)

SOUTHFIELD, MI - August 17, 2015 -Best Lawyers, the oldest and most highly respected peer review guide to the legal profession worldwide, has recognized three partners as 'Lawyer of the Year' in their respective legal fields. CEO Bill Sider made the announcement.

  • William Sider serves as CEO, board member and partner at Jaffe. He is a member of the Firm's taxation practice group where his expertise includes tax structuring and implementation of creative and sophisticated transactions on behalf of the Jaffe's varied client base. Mr. Sider also authors and lectures extensively on a variety of tax topics including equity incentives, real estate workouts, limited liability companies, REITs and angel investment strategies.

    Mark G. Cooper is a partner in the Southfield office of Jaffe. He is a member of the Firm's litigation practice group, where he specializes in complex commercial matters. Mr. Cooper also regularly litigates, tries and arbitrates complex disputes. He has extensive first-chair experience in all facets of litigation, including numerous trials, arbitrations and other methods of alternative dispute resolution.

    Peter Sugar is a partner in the Southfield and Ann Arbor offices of Jaffe. He is a member of the Firm's securities regulation, acquisitions and divestitures, emerging business and corporate practice groups. He specializes in securities regulation, corporate finance, and mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Sugar is also involved in all aspects of the formation, financing and governance of businesses, and has assisted several businesses in financing their start-up all the way through IPO.
