Peter M. Falkenstein, partner at Jaffe Raitt Heuer & Weiss, appointed to Character and Fitness Committee of the State Bar of Michigan (Friday, January 29, 2010)

Peter M. Falkenstein, a partner in the Ann Arbor office of Southfield-based Jaffe Raitt Heuer & Weiss, P.C., has been appointed to the Character and Fitness Committee (District G) by the State Bar of Michigan Board of Commissioners. Jaffe CEO Richard Zussman made the announcement.

The Character & Fitness Committee is responsible for determining whether State Bar applicants possess the requisite character and fitness for admission. Mr. Falkenstein will serve a two-year term on the committee that commenced January 1, 2010.

Mr. Falkenstein is a member of the Firm's Intellectual Property and Litigation Practice Groups, concentrating in trademark and copyright litigation, licensing, and registration, as well as e-commerce, cyberlaw and general commercial litigation.

He is a 1974 graduate of the University of Michigan and 1988 magna cum laude graduate of the University of Michigan Law School.

Recognized by Super Lawyers Magazine as one of Michigan's top intellectual property lawyers for four consecutive years, Mr. Falkenstein is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, American Bar Association and New York Bar Association. He also serves as Vice President and Member of the Executive Committee and Board of Directors of the Washtenaw County Bar Association.
