Public Finance & Municipal Affairs
Jaffe's Public Finance and Municipal Affairs Practice Group regularly represents issuers, underwriters, credit enhancers and corporate trustees in tax-exempt financing for infrastructure development and all types of public facilities, such as hospitals, cultural facilities, jails, municipal buildings, court buildings and public recreation facilities on both a tax-exempt and taxable basis. We are also a regular participant in tax-exempt financings conducted by the state of Michigan and its departments and authorities. The Public Finance and Municipal Affairs Group is a nationally recognized bond counsel listed in The Bond Buyer's Municipal Marketplace.
Our experience in public finance encompasses fixed rate issues, variable rate issues, credit enhanced issues, taxable issues and commercial paper programs (both taxable and tax-exempt), conducted through both public and negotiated sales, involving both rated and unrated issues. We are highly experienced in the education field and do work for a number of charter schools. We have created numerous charter schools in Michigan and represent these schools in all of their financing activities.
