Michael F. Jacobson
Michael F. Jacobson is a partner in the Southfield office of Jaffe Raitt Heuer & Weiss. He is a member of the Firm's Commercial Litigation Practice Group, specializing in complex commercial litigation, real estate litigation, class action litigation, partnership and shareholder disputes, construction disputes, and employment disputes.
Michael represents a variety of sophisticated clients, including, but not limited to, private equity funds and their portfolio companies, publicly traded companies, and national, regional and local real estate companies. In the last year alone, he has helped his clients secure more than $63 million of judgments. Michael also advises clients on the litigation aspects of asset purchase agreements, restrictive covenants in employment agreements, and real estate purchase and sale agreements. His litigation role includes all aspects of initial pleading and case management issues, discovery, substantive motions, trial and appeals.
He is a member of the Institute of Continuing Legal Education (ICLE) and frequent speaker regarding litigation, construction law, and dispute resolution. He was a panelist and speaker at the 10th Annual ICLE Advanced Negotiation and Dispute Resolution Institute addressing "What the Market Wants in a Mediator".
Mike earned his Bachelor's degree from the University of Colorado and is a graduate of the Detroit College of Law, where he was a member of the Law Review.
