Jennifer M. Oertel

Jennifer M. Oertel is a partner with Jaffe Raitt Heuer & Weiss, P.C., and the coordinator of the firm's Tax-exempt Organizations Practice Group where she represents large family foundations, public charities and social enterprise funds located across the nation. She also works in the areas of corporate law and finance, in which she has had over 16 years of experience in representing start-up and emerging growth companies as well as large public companies advising on matters of general corporate law, public and private offerings, securities regulations, and mergers and acquisitions

Ms. Oertel holds a certificate in nonprofit management from Georgetown University. She earned her Bachelor's degree with highest honors from the Michigan State University Honors College and is a graduate of Northeastern University School of Law where she earned several awards for academic excellence.

In 2012, Ms. Oertel was one of only two Superlawyers in Michigan with a focus in nonprofit law. In 2011, she was voted Volunteer Lawyer of the Year by Michigan Community Resources (formerly, Community Legal Resources)
