James R. Kramer

James R. Kramer is an associate in the Southfield office of Jaffe Raitt Heuer & Weiss. He is a member of the firm's Electronic Payment Group, Corporate and Business Transactions, and Privacy and Datasecurity Groups. James counsels clients on contractual, regulatory, and compliance matters as well as on purchases, sales, mergers, and acquisitions. He routinely advises and negotiates on behalf of financial institutions and entities in the electronic payments industry.

Prior to joining Jaffe, James served as the General Counsel of a mid-size payment processing company. Before law school he was an auditor for Ernst & Young serving financial services clients, primarily banks and asset management companies.

James graduated cum laude with his Bachelor of Science in Accounting, Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (finance emphasis), and his JD from the University of Southern California. While in law school he was on the staff of the Southern California Review of Law and Social Justice and studied international law at Universita' Bocconi in Milan, Italy.
