Cass Cook

Cass Cook is a partner in the Southfield office of Jaffe Raitt Heuer & Weiss. He specializes in domestic and international trademark, copyright and related business matters - representing local, domestic and international clients in a number of industries including the arts, automotive, media, electronics, software, design, manufacturing, sports and recreation, medical products and services, apparel and accessories, luxury brands and hospitality services, financial and insurance services, publishing, technology, education and entertainment.

He handles matters related to brand development and brand enforcement - specializing in the clearance, prosecution, licensing, management, protection and enforcement of proprietary interests and rights locally, domestically and internationally via trademarks, copyrights, domain names, unfair competition, the right of publicity, social media, anticybersquating, defamatory websites and geographical indications.

He has experience in trademark prosecution before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, copyright prosecution before the U.S. Copyright Office, Ex Parte and Inter Partes proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, and disputes before state and federal courts, administrative agencies and arbitration forums.

Cass is a graduate of Wayne State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science where he was the recipient of the 2000 French Poetry Award. He earned his Juris Doctor degree from Brooklyn Law School and received the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Insurance Law. Cass studied the laws of the European Union at the University of Cambridge, Emmanuel College.
