Brenda R. Yates

Brenda R. Yates is a paralegal in the Southfield office of Jaffe Raitt Heuer & Weiss. She is a member of the Firm's Corporate, Intellectual Property, Emerging Growth and Finance Practice Groups. Brenda has been with Jaffe for 22 years.

Her responsibilities at Jaffe include preparation of audit letter responses; forming corporations, limited liability companies and limited partnerships; preparation of resolutions, bylaws, stock certificates and operating agreements; obtaining tax ID numbers; preparation and filing of UCC liens; litigation; UCC and tax lien searches; out of state qualifications; document review; miscellaneous corporate matters; preparation of trademark, copyright, and patent assignments; performing trademark and patent chair of title; submitting trademark and patent assignments and various other intellectual property agreements to the USPTO; submitting copyright assignments and patent assignments and various other intellectual property agreements to the USPTO; submitting copyright assignments to the US Copyright Office; submitting trademark renewals to the USPTO and WIPO; corresponding with international partners regarding various trademark and patent matters, including but not limited to applications, renewals, assignments and security interests; and miscellaneous intellectual property matters.

Brenda earned her diploma in paralegal studies from the Academy of Court Reporting, Inc.
