SOUTHFIELD, MI - January 17, 2008 - Clay B. Thomas, an associate with Southfield-based Jaffe Raitt Heuer & Weiss, P.C., has been elected to the Board of Directors for ALS of Michigan.

A voluntary not-for-profit organization, ALS of Michigan is dedicated to the fight against Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), more commonly known as Lou Gehrig's Disease.  The group's Board of Directors provides guidance and oversight to the organization in meeting its mission while coordinating and focusing fund raising efforts.  Mr. Thomas' term on the Board of Directors commenced January 2008.

Mr. Thomas is an associate in the Firm's Real Estate Practice Group, where he concentrates his practice in the areas of real estate, construction and corporate law.

He is a 1997 graduate of the University of Michigan and a 2000 graduate of the University of Michigan Law School where he served as contributing editor of the Michigan Journal of International Law.

Mr. Thomas is a member of the American Bar Association and the State Bar of Michigan Real Property Law Sections, the American Bar Association Forum on the Construction Industry, and the International Council of Shopping Centers.
