Holli Targan published an article "There's a New Law in Town: Internet Card Processing Requirements", which appeared in the November/December issue of Transaction Trends.

Ira J. Jaffe was recently appointed a Board Member of United Way. He spoke to 70 Huntington Bank management and executives about the importance of United Way services and contributions.

Shirley A. Kaigler spoke at the 40th annual probate and estate planning program in Traverse City. Her topic was "Trust Administration Under EPIC." She also joined the Women's Economic Club and is now the Treasurer for the Black United Fund.

Sharon J. LaDuke was involved in an ICLE program that allows attorneys to purchase individual course Outlines. Sharon's material on Your Discovery of Assets in Divorce Papers has been selected as one of the outlines offered in this manner. Sharon spoke at the State Bar of Michigan Real Property Law Section seminar on AIA contracts A-201 and B141 from the owner’s perspective.

Melanie T. LaFave spoke at Manpower, Inc. for its customers on the issue of coemployment at the Birmingham Community House.

Stephen S. LaPlante spoke on bankruptcy trial advocacy at a seminar sponsored by the Federal Bar Association and the Detroit Bar Association.

Susan S. Lichterman was appointed to the Board of Directors of Children's Center of Wayne County. Susan was also appointed to serve as a hearing panelist for the State of Michigan Attorney Discipline Board.

Victor F. Ptasznik, who is a member of the American Bar Association Commercial Financial Services Committee, will act as the Michigan law contributor to a state-by-state survey of law relevant to commercial lenders. The survey will be published and periodically updated on the Committee’s website. Vic also coordinates the firm’s role as Michigan Compendium counsel for the Commercial Finance Association.

Mark K. Rabidoux published an article titled, "So You Think You Want a Web Site?", which appeared in The Michigan Mortgage Press.

Brian G. Shannon was a panelist at a State Bar of Michigan Appellate Practice Section seminar, called "Sixth Circuit Practice: Nuts and Bolts for Michigan Lawyers." He spoke on the subject of federal interlocutory appeals. Brian also has a regular column, "Shannon’s Soapbox", published in the State Bar of Michigan’s Appellate Practice Section Newsletter.

Lawrence R. Shoffner, chairman of the Commercial Leasing and Management of Real Property committee, hosted a round table discussion at the Real Property Sections' summer conference.

Holli H.Targan spoke the the Northeast Acquirer's Association Annual Conference. Her topic was "Top Ten Legal Issues Relevant to the Credit Card Processing Industry." She has written the following articles:

Holli has been listed in the 2000 Edition of Who's Who in American Law

Scott R. Torpey presented a seminar in Taiwan. His topic was Fundamentals of Litigation in the United States.

David D. Warner has written the Michigan Corporate Practice and Forms, published by Data Trace Publishing Company. In this exhaustive, two-volume loose-leaf set, you’ll learn everything you need to know to organize and operate any corporation. David also spoke at the National Aircraft Finance Association annual conference on current legal issues.

Jay L. Welford, co-chair of the Legislative Committee of the Commercial Law League of America, spoke at the Southern and Western Regional meeting of the Commercial Law League on the topic "Hidden Liens." Jay has been elected as Secretary of the Bankruptcy Section of the Commercial Law League of America. The Commercial Law League is the nation's Oldest creditors rights organization, with 5000 plus members. He met with member representatives from the Conference Committee ( House and Senate) and with the Deputy Economic Advisor to the President with respect to H.R. 833 and S. 625, the bankruptcy Reform bills pending before Congress.

Thomas H. Williams spoke at the Council on Education in Management seminar titled EEOC Hiring Compliance.
